- At Maroon Dam in conjunction with the Variety
bass competition on 27 – 28 April 2019. Please let Jeremy know you are
attending to assist with catering. Details and entry forms are available on the

- At Uncle Billy’s from 7 – 9 June 2019. Please
let the club know (see details on the web forum) as accommodation is limited at
the venue.

The second 2017 Queensland Flyfishing trial is scheduled to
be held at Uncle Billy’s on the 28 – 30 July 2017. Once again the weekend
outing is hosted by SE Qld Flyfishers Club. The event is open to all, but
points toward the Australian National Championships may only be gained if you
are a financial member of Fly Fish Australia at the time of the competition, so
please ensure your subs are paid. Booking of accommodation should be done via
the club web forum.

The Queensland team of Jim Williams, Jon Burgess, Ez Sarvan, Alex Meynink and Ward Nicholas attended the 2012 Australian Flyfishing Championships at Beckenderra over the 23 and 24 November 2012. Despite the fact that the team are limited in their preparation (after all there are no trout in Queensland) Jim Williams, last years winner, finished in a very creditable fourth place. The team were assisted in their efforts by Tie’n’Fly Outfitters.

The second Queensland trial was held at Dunmore over the weekend of 27 December 2011. The first three places were filled by Alex Meynink, Ward Nicholas and Ez Sarvan. The Queensland team to participate in the 2012 Australian Fly Fishing Championships to be held in November will be Jim Williams, Jon Burgess, Ez Sarvan, Alex Meynink and Ward Nicholas.

The 2011 Australian Fly Fishing Championships were held at Falls Creek over the weekend 26 / 27 November 2011 and for the first time a Queensland team participated. The team consisted of Jim Williams, Jon Burgess, Ez Sarvan, Ward Nicholas and Alex Meynink. Much to the joy of all Jim Williams took first place, Australian champion 2011 – well done Jim.

The first trial for the Queensland representative fly fishing team to attend the 2011 Australian Fly Fishing Championships was held on 6 November 2010 at Uncle Billy’s in northern New South Wales.
Results were as follows:

The 2010 Australian championships are to be held on the weekend of 26 – 28 November.

The 30th FIPS-Mouche World Fly Fishing Championships were held from 14 – 21 June 2010 in Lesko-Polanczyk, Poland.
The team event was won by Czech Republic and the individual section headed by Paul Chyba, also of Czech Republic. Australia finished in ninth place in the team event and top placing Australian in the individuals was Jonathon Stagg in 12th position.
